Introducing the InboxSys BIMI checker
Get your logo seen and increase your brand’s visibility.
If you’re serious about email deliverability, you’ve probably heard about BIMI — short for Brand Indicators for Message Identification. But for many senders, it remains a technical mystery: What is BIMI really, and why does it matter?
Let’s break it down — and introduce you to a powerful new tool to help you get BIMI right before committing to an expensive certificate.
What Is BIMI?
BIMI is a standard that lets you display your brand’s logo next to your emails in inboxes that support it (like Gmail and Yahoo). It builds trust, improves open rates, and visually sets your messages apart — but there’s more to it than just uploading a logo.
To qualify, you’ll need:
- A strict DMARC policy (p=quarantine or p=reject – without “pct” or with “pct” set to 100%).
- A properly formatted SVG logo. For VMCs, the SVG must match the registered trademark with an accepted trademark office.
- A Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) issued by a certificate authority if you want the blue tick in Google’s Gmail or be “Digitally Certified” in Apple’s Icloud mail client.
Or
- A Common Mark Certificate (CMC) if you do not want the blue tick offered by a VMC & which does not require a trademarked logo.
- And of course, a correct BIMI DNS record that includes the SVG and certificate hosted locations.
Once your VMC is issued — you can’t change it. Not without reapplying and paying again. That’s why testing everything beforehand is so important.
Why BIMI Matters
- Boosts brand trust in crowded inboxes.
- Improves engagement by making your emails stand out.
- Requires DMARC enforcement, which protects your domain from spoofing and phishing.
- Shows customers you care about security and brand consistency.
But it only works when everything is perfectly in place.
Meet the InboxSys BIMI Checker
Our new tool helps you test your BIMI readiness before you apply for a certificate — and avoid costly rejections.
Here’s what it does:
- Works with subdomains — not just root domains.
- Runs an advanced DMARC check on the organizational domain.
- Validates your SVG logo to ensure it meets all formatting rules.
- Checks your VMC certificate for accuracy and compliance.
- Previews how your logo will actually appear in the inbox.
- Gives helpful guidance on how to fix errors.
And because it’s integrated inside your InboxSys account, results are fast and easy to interpret.
Why Test Before You Certify?
Once you’ve applied for a BIMI certificate, your logo and DNS setup are locked in.
- Mistakes = reapplication.
- Reapplication = more time, more money.
That’s where the InboxSys BIMI Checker comes in
You can validate and preview everything before you commit. It’s your BIMI safety net.
